Two alternative insulation materials
SpreFix™ is a unique self-adhesive spray-on material that differs markedly from pre-fabricated elements in several ways. The material comes in two versions:
• SpreFix™ G is a light-weight, non-combustible glass wool suitable for moisture and condensation control, thermal insulation and sound absorption. It is non-combustible and withstands heat up to 600°C.
• SpreFix™ S withstands heat up to 1125°C and is recommended for fire protection. It comes with all certificates required in the marine and offshore sectors.
In both cases the clean spray application is free of any additives such as solvents, asbestos, cement or fusible silicates.
The wool is torn into a fine and airy granulate which is effectively mixed with a unique two-component binder. The mixing takes place in the air during the actual application. When the mixture hits the surface to be insulated it congeals into a seamless gel-like structure.
There are no gaps, and no drying cracks –
the material keeps the same airy, well-
adhesive shape over time. As the
insulation material is effectively glued
directly onto the underlying surface, the
risk of corrosion or rot under the
insulation material is eliminated.
